Presentation of the proposal

The contributions should be transmitted in digital format using the registration at the journal's OJS link (Open Journal System) at the following address:

http://www.mediageo.it/ojs/index.php/archeomatica/information/authors

you will immediately enter in the process of acceptance of the proposal that will be automatically sent to the reviewer and then, if positive, to the editor for the allocation to the available volume.

In very exceptional case and for access problem to the site, the editorial proposal can be sent by e-mail to the following address: redazione@archeomatica.it

 

Organization of the manuscript

If the article exceeds the two folders it is preferable to subdivide the written in titled paragraphs, or in sections.

By "folder" we mean, in any case, an average of 2,000 characters per page, that is, thirty lines of about sixty-five bars (including spaces and notes).

 

Indicatively it is necessary to respect the following dimensions:

 

- Main essays: within 20,000 characters (approximately 10 folders);

- Reviews: between 4,000 and 12,000 characters (2-6 pages approximately);

- Product sheets: between 2,000 and 4,000 characters (about 1-2 folders).

 It is appropriate, in the case of significantly different needs, and for types of contributions not mentioned here, to agree with the editorial staff the number of characteres allowed. 

The text of the article should not exceed the limits indicated above and  should be accompanied by at least 4-5 images.

Formats

The ODF (Open Document Format), DOC (Microsoft Word) or RTF (Rich Text Format) file formats are accepted.

Since the texts are submitted to automatic procedures, please type correctly the space in this case:

- a single space between a word and a word;

- between word and punctuation (comma, point, etc.) no space;

- after punctuation (comma, period, etc.) only one space;

- after quotation marks and opening brackets and before closing quotation marks and brackets no space;

- between apostrophe and the following word no space;

 

If you use Word, we suggeste to work (and in any case to check in the text at the end of the work the presence of any double spaces, cursed italics, etc.) always having the "show / hide" button (¶) active.

Do not use underline or bold in the text and notes.

Write the titles of the paragraphs in bold.

 

Title

Title of the proposed text. Normally it must be around 40-110 characters (modification may be required for editorial purposes)

 

Subtitle
Expands the content of the title and introduces the reading of the next text. Normally it must be around 350-450 characters (modification may be required for editorial purposes).

 

Paragraphs
In addition to the title and subtitle, the titling of the paragraphs in bold is permitted; any titles of subparagraphs must be in italics. Paragraph numbering and the use of small caps are not allowed.

 

Note
No footnotes are allowed, but only limited closing notes that are necessary for the actual comprehension of the text.

 

Bibliography
The bibliographic references will be reported according to the Harvard system, whose main rules are reported below.

  • The Harvardian system excludes bibliographic notes.
  • The numbering both of bibliographic references and bibliography is not allowed.
  • Never use small caps or uppercase for surnames and initials of authors. In the bibliography the authors following the first are in the form Surname, Initial of the name preceded by a comma while the last one is preceded by the conjunction &.
  • In case there are more works of the same author it is necessary to insert them in chronological order according to the classical scheme.

 

The bibliography must be complete with all the basic elements as shown below:

 

Books

Surname N. (year of publication in round brackets) title in italics. Place of publication: Publisher.

Articles on periodical

Surname N. (year of edition in round brackets) title in round. Title / abbreviation of the periodic in italics number of the periodical of the periodical (eventual number of the file in round brackets), pages without "pp.".

Digital books on internet

Abstract in English

An abstract of 600-750 characters in English is required.

 

Images

The images must necessarily be provided in a manner suitable for printing, ie with 300 dpi resolution (dots per inch), using the most common graphic formats (JPEG, TIFF, etc.).  The only exception allowed are screen captures for which please do not change the dpi, they will be adapted by our graphic staff.

The original images must be placed in an external file, but be careful that inside the text there will be, in any case, the related references to the images; even without the captions.

 Images must be accompanied by captions.

Tables must be provided in Word or Excel format.

 

Authors names and references

It is essential to indicate at the end of the text your references (name and surname, title, address, affiliation, e-mail).

 

Keyword

A list of 4-5 keywords is necessary for the bibliographic indexing of the submission.

 

Review of Drafts

There are no revisions on the layout of the draft. The authors should pay the utmost attention to supplying articles only in a correct and definitive version.

The PDFs of the articles will be sent to the authors for the layout confirmation. Except graphic layout errors, incorrect position of images, missing images, pieces of text lost from the original word file, corrections on the final layout are not allowed.

The Editor reserves the right to arrange the layouts graphically in the version most suited to the graphic/editorial standards of the magazines.

 

Editorial changes

The editorial staff reserves the right to make editorial changes that may be appropriate by agreeing with the authors the most relevant ones.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
